The new policy for pickup trucks in 2023

2024-06-14

1. New regulations for pickup trucks in 2023 will be issued, and 97% of cities at or above the prefecture level will cancel restrictions on pickup trucks entering the city.

2. Light vehicles with a total mass greater than 4.5 tons, emission pollution control standards that meet the National VI standard, and exhaust emissions of not less than 2.5 liters will fully implement the National VI emission standard starting in 2023. Pickup trucks are light vehicles, and the latest National VI standard will be implemented on January 1, 2023, so pickup trucks in 2023 need to meet the latest National VI standard.

3. For pickup trucks that have been inspected annually after September 2022, pickup trucks that are not operating vehicles will be subject to appointment inspections starting in 2023, and will require annual inspections every two years.

In short, the new policy for pickup trucks in 2023 provides a more relaxed environment for pickup trucks to go on the road, which has positive significance for promoting the development and popularization of pickup trucks.
